Project overview:
Winner of an international design competition. A terminal building for the world’s largest cruise ship: Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class. Competition by invite only, against some of the world’s leading architects. The ‘Crown of Miami’ became a new icon on the Miami waterfront. The concept was to “Bring back the romance” of travel and celebrate the magnificent scale of the ship. After winning the competition Miguel Sousa spent a 10 month stint in Miami to see the project through from concept to construction.

Miguel Sousa was Project Manager, On-site design coordinator and Co-lead designer with Ian Simpson, Marcin Skolimowski, Brahmono Aji, Glynis Hong and Daniel Gutierrez.
Local Architects of Records Bermello Ajamil & Partners, led by Luis Ajamil, Saul Suarez and Jim Rowe.
