Miguel Sousa, the Managing Director of Gummavitta has been engaged as Project Director to assist Spanish firm ERRE Arquitectura in designing a new cruise ship Terminal for industry giants MSC. This terminal is a high-capacity gateway capable of managing two 6,000-passenger vessels simultaneously. The architecture draws inspiration from Valencia’s rich ceramic heritage and terracotta traditions, translating local materiality into a contemporary landmark. While cruise operations demand rigorous logistical precision, the design prioritizes the passenger experience - utilizing a symmetrical layout that provides streamlined embarkation and disembarking flows. The result is a balance of operational efficiency and prestige, serving as a vibrant, cultural emblem for the Port of Valencia. This project is being developed with ERRE Arquitectura.
